june’s music is devised as an anthology of introspective cratering, originally influenced by the early industrial transgressive waves translating into subversive endeavors. His early interactions with synthesizers and computer machinery growing up were followed by a four-year period in Montreal, where his technical work focused mostly on gesture recognition and embedded systems. This further fed into a more expansive approach to synthesis, using self-built components alongside a diverse set of hardware and software tools, before transitioning into performing live and as a dj in 2016. In that year, he returned to Beirut, where he co-founded Frequent Defect, and through which his expression found a primary channel, with his work now also involving concept and curation alongside performance. He regularly works with fellow artists Jad Atoui and Try Harder, and has performed live with the great Yo-yo Ma, and homegrown heroes Renata and Ziad Moukarzel among others. He has been an element of the latest musical disruption in Lebanon, and part of a collective attempt at reclaiming what has been seized.
